6 November 2024 -
Following the example of the traditional welcome seminar for new doctoral students in the SIMPPE doctoral school, the ERPI laboratory was keen to hold a convivial team-wide event. This event enabled new arrivals to meet their peers as well as more advanced doctoral students, providing a forum for exchanging information about the workings of the laboratory and good practice.
The aim of the day was to foster a culture of teamwork, encourage cross-functionality and promote exchanges between researchers, in order to strengthen expertise and scientific rigour within the laboratory.
The day began with a convivial breakfast, facilitating initial meetings. Themes covered during the seminar included:
- Positioning and orientation of the laboratory, presented by Mauricio Camargo
- Rights and duties of doctoral students, presented by Ferney Osorio
- Resources and good practice, with a focus on Open Science, led by Alex Gabriel
An interactive workshop, led by Ferney Osorio, also encouraged doctoral students to project themselves into their future careers and identify the actions they need to take to achieve their professional goals.
The event was organised by Ferney Osorio, Alex Gabriel and Mauricio Camargo, and attended by Eric Bonjour and Aurelia Geisen. This seminar is part of our laboratory’s drive to create a collaborative and enriching dynamic for all our PhD students.
